The Apprenticeship
Our Apprenticeship frameworks follow a standard format that comprises:
A National Vocational Qualification at Level 2 (Level 3 for Advanced Apprenticeships)
Application of Number Key Skills (Mathematics)
Communication Key Skills (English)
A Technical Certificate
Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
We provide the knowledge and develop skills while the employer provides the practical experience to put those skills to the test. Training is all done in the workplace.

When it comes to responsibility, it doesn’t get much greater than looking after someone else’s children! Far from an easy job, Childcare is a challenging but rewarding career. As an apprentice you will be helping to ensure the welfare of children, keeping them safe, occupied and cared for. Often through play, you will help devise and deliver activities that encourage a child’s personal and social learning and development. Progression routes within the industry include Senior Playworker, Leader, or maybe you might want to open your own nursery one day?

Roles relevant to Childcare:

Nursery Assistant
Playgroup Assistant
Nursery Nurse
Childminder

Nursery and other early years employers reap the benefits of better motivated and more highly skilled staff when they get involved in work-related training such as Apprenticeships, according to a report published by Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.
