CV Building and Letter Writing

Creating a CV that sells your skill and ambition in the right way can be a difficult task. Our experienced tutors will help you set up and lay out your relevant skills and experience. A CV and covering letter is often the first point of contact with an employer and is your chance to show you're the right person for the job - too many CVs end up straight in the bin because of simple mistakes.

Being able to write a good letter or email is an important part of both applying for jobs, and speculative applications. A well crafted and concise letter is a good indication of a good prospective employee. We will show you how to draft out letters for a variety of situations, better increasing your chance of getting to the interview stage.

Forms & Interviews

Application forms are becoming increasingly complex and can often be a confusing and time consuming process. We'll help you pinpoint your strengths and show you how to highlight them in the framework of an application form. By using the techniques you learn, you'll give yourself a better chance of progressing to an interview stage for the job you really want.

Job interviews can be a daunting prospect, but this is the opportunity to sell yourself and your skills. You've worked hard on your CV and/or application form, and we can help you develop the right techniques to use when talking face to face with your prospective employer. We'll enable you to prepare properly beforehand and help you to overcome the many hurdles an interviewer can place in your way.

Confidence & Barriers

Self confidence is important in almost all areas of daily life, and is all about balance. A lack of confidence can be a real barrier to taking opportunities that arise and getting into work. Over confidence can be just as much a hindrance as a lack of it. Our techniques can help you overcome your confidence issues and give you the determination and focus you need to achieve your goals.

Entering or re-entering the world of work can by quite daunting. We can help with breaking through any personal barriers and external challenges that may be preventing you from entering employment and other work related opportunities. We'll look at ways you can take the first steps forward out of situations such as 'worklessness', poverty and social exclusion, and get you moving in the right direction.
