I would just like to express my thanks for the time you put into my daughter's application for apprenticeship at Sunsave Travel, Wyke. She applied for 4 positions on the web site on Sunday and I'm amazed she had a position within 5 days. This was her dream job as she put it, being local and customer service within the travel industry and she's so pleased she got it. The mock interview and notes you sent were a great help and well wishes before the interview were a nice touch. When she has applied for various other jobs and don't even get an acknowledgement this has been a refreshing change and have been very impressed with the service. Thanks again.

RTT @ Connexions

Young people have found it useful to have an RTT advisor at Connexions. The Connexions advisers have also found it helpful to have face to face contact and keep up to date with what is on offer for the young people they work with. We have always found the RTT staff to be pleasant and co-operative.

What you've said:

Just to say thank you for your assistance in helping Hannah. Hannah had applied for a few Apprenticeships but may I say you were the best in replying to her and giving her any feedback. Hannah found you very helpful and friendly to be able to talk to you. This to me is important to a young adult as interviews at any age are nerve racking.

Getting qualified while on the job can also mean:

Learning at a pace to suit and getting support from our team whenever required

Gaining skills and knowledge which can be used across a range of jobs and industries

Our range of support doesn't end with an Apprenticeship, we offer a full IAG (Information, Advice, and Guidance) Programme to all our clients

We've put together some useful info in helping your child make the decision as to whether an Apprenticeship is the right choice for them...

How is learning done through an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is essentially a set of qualifications called a ‘framework’ developed by Sector Skills Councils. Our Apprenticeship frameworks follow a standard format that comprises:

A National Vocational Qualification at Level 2 (Level 3 for Advanced Apprenticeships)
Application of number Key Skills (Mathematics)
Communication Key Skills (English)
A Technical Certificate

We provide the knowledge and develop skills while the employer provides the practical experience to put those skills to the test. Training is all done in the workplace.

How do they apply?

Applicants are advised to apply directly through our website. They can search by vacancy type and also by home postcode and distance they are willing to travel to bring up suitable vacancies for themselves.

If your child is not quite ready to take the next step and become an apprentice, the WorkSkills programme could be an ideal stepping stone
